Tampa Bay Beachy Retreat: Pool, Balcony-Waterfront View

Positive: The view and friendly, helpful owner. Negative: The strong, over powering smell of the unit. It smelled like a strong cleaners mixed with laundry detergent and musty basement. I don't know if there was a diffuser I missed in the room somewhere, but our second day, even more than the first, there was an additional cheap perfume odor in the mix upon entering as if someone came in while we were out. Needless to say, the VOC level was high and everything from our clothing, vitamins and protein powders that we had in plastic bags on the counters and our fruit, bread, and leftovers stored in the fridge, tasted like the smell/cleaner to the point that once I was home without being surrounded/desensitized to the odor, I had to throw away foods, supplements and wash even my clean clothes bc the chemical fragrance had permeated everything.

My kids and I enjoyed ourselves for 2 days and didn’t need to go anywhere Positive: Views were incredible. It was clean, cozy. Restaurant on site at the pool was super convenient. Negative: One of the elevators was probably the scariest elevator I’ve ever ridden in… that definitely needs to get fixed. The security guard present on 6/30 around 5pm was zero help. We asked if he could point us in the direction of our room and he said “nope! I haven’t been here in 6 months so that’s a no”. Just really unfriendly BUT our host was fantastic.
